Learning About Swimming Pool Builds

Hello, my name is Mia. Ever since I was a kid, I have always dreamed of having my own pool. When I finally purchased a home with some land, I immediately started planning out the size and location of my pool. I wanted to create an outdoor oasis for my family to enjoy together. As my swimming pool plans grew far out of proportion, I elected to hire a pool contractor to bring them back to reality. I want to use this site to talk about the process of creating my swimming pool and others like it. I invite you to visit often.

Answers To A Couple Of Questions About Swimming Pool Maintenance

Spending time in a swimming pool can be an excellent way to enjoy relaxing on a beautiful summer day. However, there are some issues that a swimming pool may encounter, and if you have limited experience with maintaining pools, you may not be sure of the steps that you will need to take to address these issues. Having a few pool problem questions answered may help you to be prepared to handle some of the more routine maintenance issues that your pool may encounter.

What Happens If You Do Not Get Leaves Out Of The Water?

One of the more routine tasks that you will find yourself needing to do is to remove any leaves and sticks that may be in the water. While this task can be somewhat time-consuming, it is critical for the safety of your pumping system. If the leaves or sticks make it into the pump, they can cause a serious jam that may require the pump to be disassembled to correct. To help minimize this risk, you should make sure to clean the filter to the pump every couple of weeks and remove any leaves when you notice them in the water.

While there are some automated tools that can reduce the work involved with removing leaves, these devices can not completely replace manually removing leaves from the water because they will often only skim the bottom of the pool to collect leaves that have sunk. This can still expose the pump to the risk of sucking in leaves that are floating along the surface.

Is It Normal For The Pump To Leak Water?

You may notice that a puddle of water is collecting around the base of your pump. While this may not seem like a particularly serious problem, it could indicate that the seals in the pump are compromised or that the exterior has cracked. Sadly, this problem will likely worsen until it is corrected, and if you fail to have it repaired, the pump may suffer permanent damage while allowing your yard to flood. When you notice that water is pooling around the pump, you should arrange for it to be serviced as soon as possible. In instances where the damage stems from compromised seals, it may be possible to correct this problem by simply replacing the seals. If the exterior of the pump has been cracked, the repair technician may be able to solder the crack to close it and stop the leak. However, soldering is only a suitable repair for minor cracks, which means that delaying this repair can allow the crack to grow until replacement is the only viable way of fixing the problem.
